Author Guidelines
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors must confirm compliance with all of the following items. Submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines:

The manuscript is original and is not under review by another journal.

The submission file is in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, or RTF format.

References include URLs when available.
-
The text is formatted according to the journal's guidelines, with single spacing, 10-point font size, and italics instead of underlining.
-
All figures and tables are inserted in the text at the appropriate points.
-
The manuscript follows the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
-
The declaration regarding the use of original and/or third-party authorized material has been signed and will be submitted along with other documents.
Author Guidelines
1. Formatting Requirements
1.1. General Formatting
The manuscript must be prepared in Microsoft Word (.DOCX or .DOC), formatted in A4 size (210 x 297 mm), black text, and Helvetica font. Font sizes: 10 for general text, 12 for sub-subheadings, 13 for subheadings, and 16 for main titles. Titles should be aligned to the left and captions must be numbered. Each image must be identified using uppercase letters, and elements within the image should be labeled with lowercase letters or thin arrows.
Images, graphs, and tables must be embedded within the text with a minimum resolution of Full HD (1920x1080 or 1920x1200 pixels). Page margins: 3 cm left and right, 2.5 cm top and bottom. Line spacing should be 1.15 (multiple), and pagination should be in the top right corner, font size 10, bold.

Abstract (justified text)
The abstract, with a maximum of 200 words, should be structured in five sections when applicable: i) Introduction; ii) Objectives; iii) Materials and Methods; iv) Results; and v) Conclusions. It should not include references, figures, or tables.
Three to five keywords must be provided in both Portuguese and English, selected from the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) of the National Library of Medicine: https://www.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/meshhome.html

The main text should not exceed 5,000 words, excluding tables. Acknowledgements should be placed at the end of the text.
References (APA Style)
Authors may use EndNote (available for download [here]) or any other reference management software, such as Zotero or Mendeley.
In-text citations must follow this format: (Silva et al., 2021)
Unpublished information (e.g., personal communications, manuscripts in preparation, or inaccessible documents) should not appear in the reference list but may be mentioned in the text within parentheses.
References should follow APA style. Examples:

Authorship Criteria
TER ISAVE adheres to the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Co-authorship must be based on the following criteria:

Substantial contributions to the conception/design of the work, or data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation;

Drafting the work or critically revising it;
-
Final approval of the version to be published;
-
Accountability for all aspects of the work, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
Acknowledgments
Anyone who contributed to the work but does not meet all four authorship criteria should be acknowledged. This typically includes technical contributions, institutional affiliations, or specific support.
Conflict of Interest and Funding
Authors must declare any conflicts of interest and funding sources.
Public trust in the scientific process and the credibility of publications depend on transparency in relationships and activities that may influence the research at any stage.
Authors must state any conflicts explicitly in the manuscript. If no conflict exists, include the statement: "The author(s) declare no conflicts of interest."
Authors must also declare whether funding was received.
Ethical Responsibilities
Authors are expected to follow the standards defined by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (https://www.icmje.org/).
Manuscripts submitted to TER ISAVE must comply with international guidelines for clinical (Declaration of Helsinki) and animal research (American Physiological Society). Randomized trials should follow CONSORT guidelines.
Plagiarism
TER ISAVE safeguards authorship rights and investigates allegations of plagiarism or misuse of published content. We also protect the journal's reputation against malpractice. Submitted articles may be checked using plagiarism detection software.
As a Crossref member, TER ISAVE uses Similarity Check during the initial screening and later peer review phases. In case of plagiarism, authors will be informed and TER ISAVE reserves the right to issue an erratum or notify the authors' institutions.
Complaint Management
All ethical allegations are taken seriously. The journal maintains the integrity of the scientific record to the extent possible.
The relationship with authors is based on trust. Material is published in good faith.
Concerns related to misconduct should be addressed to the journal's editorial office.
Article Processing Charges
TER ISAVE is an open-access journal.
No fees are charged for manuscript submission or peer review.
The authors' institutional affiliations do not influence decisions on manuscripts.
Permissions
Participant data must not allow identification. Authors must obtain written consent from individuals for publication and dissemination in TER ISAVE. Authors are also responsible for obtaining permissions to reproduce any previously published material (text, tables, or figures). Permission must be obtained from both the original author and the publisher.
Copyright
Authors retain the copyright of their published work according to the journal's policies.
Copyright Statement
I/We declare that, following publication in TER ISAVE, the article will not be published elsewhere by me/us or by any co-author. Therefore, authors transfer copyright to TER ISAVE.

Evaluation Guidelines
Authors are invited to submit to this journal. All submissions will be reviewed by an editor to determine their relevance to the journal's scope. Suitable manuscripts will undergo peer review before a decision is made.
Before submitting, authors must obtain permission to include any material such as photos, documents, or datasets. All authors listed must consent to be named. When applicable, ethical approval must be obtained in accordance with national legal requirements.
Editors may reject submissions that do not meet minimum quality standards. Ensure that the study design and argument are clear and well-structured. Titles should be concise, and abstracts should be self-contained. This increases the likelihood of peer reviewers accepting the assignment.
Once you are confident that your submission meets the required standards, follow the checklist above to prepare your submission.
Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.
Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.
An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

- This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
- All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.

- Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
